There will not be any more Board Game Club days this year. Thank you to everyone who participated throughout the school, especially the grade 5 girls who tried to make it every week, even after a long homework club session.

Tomorrow will be the last day for Mindfulness Club in the morning. Students from grades 1 to 8 are welcome to attend.

As the school year comes to an end, so does the elementary canteen. The canteen will remain open only until the remaining items are sold out. Once everything sells, the canteen will be closed for the rest of the school year.

Thanks to everyone who played a role in the track meet yesterday. It was a great day with good competition. Special thanks to Ms. Harder, Mrs. Luhowy and Mr. Sigvaldason for getting the athletes prepared and to Mr. Porter and Mr. Grant for running the track. Thanks to Mr. Kozak for setting up the sound system and to Mrs. Deslauriers for running the canteen.

Monday, May 26, 2025 - Day 4

The IA shop will be opening during lunch hours from 12:05 - 1:00 all week.

There will not be a high school or elementary track practice today. High school students are encouraged practice on their own. The next practice is Thursday after school.

Friday, May 23, 2025 - Day 3

The IA shop will be opening during lunch hours starting this Monday for any students that are behind. Talk to Mr. Vigini to arrange.

The grade 4 - 8 track meet is on Monday, May 26. Students are reminded to dress for the weather. There will be a canteen.

On Wednesday, May 28 Grade 1 - 5 students will be presenting short talks/speeches to an audience. Kindergarten students will practice and memorize a poem to present. All students will share their speeches/poems within his/her class. All students will be given the opportunity to present their speeches/poems at our Showcase Event which is open to the public.

Congratulations to the Buffalo Leaders on a successful year. We are done meeting for the school year and will resume in September 2025.

There is a BBQ tomorrow at Anderson Place by the credit union. It is a fundraiser for the high school grads. The will be selling hamburgers and hotdogs.

Thursday, March 13 there will be Parent-Teacher Interviews from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday March 14 is Parent-Teacher Interviews from 9:00- 11:30 and from 1:00 - 2:30. There are no classes for students on Friday, March 14. Friday will not be counted as a day on the school calendar so Monday, March 17 will be a Day 4 and Kindergarten students will attend classes.

The high school ski trip is on Monday, March 17. The bus to Asessippi will be leaving the school at 8:00 a.m.

Congratulations to the Grade 6-8 girls basketball team for finishing 2nd at divisionals. In their first game they only gave up 2 points in a win against Gilbert Plains. They lost a hard fought game to Dauphin the finals.

Monday, March 3, 2025 - Day 1

The Grade 6/7 boys basketball team travelled to Dauphin to compete in Divisionals this past Saturday. They won their first game against Roblin 20-17. They played Dauphin in the afternoon for 1st place and kept a close score until the second. They finished their season in second place. Great work to all the 6-8 boys great season of practising and developing your skills.

Buffalo Leaders must get their permission forms for tomorrow in to Ms. Harder this morning.

The Middle Years curlers competed at Divisionals in Dauphin yesterday. They represented Grandview School with good sportsmanship and some exciting game play. Thanks to all curlers for a great season. Our last practice will be Thursday, February 27.

Our high school curling teams competed yesterday in Swan River. Teagan & Dylan went 1 & 1 with an exciting extra end win, Meadow, Aimee, Paula & Gesa finished at 1 & 2 with a decisive 11 - 2 win to finish the day. Congratulations to all athletes on a great day.

Congratulations to the Grade 6-8 girls basketball team for winning a tournament in Dauphin this past Saturday. They defeated Swan River in their first game and then beat Neepawa in the semi-finals. We then beat Dauphin in the finals. Scarlett Lynx was named the tournament MVP.

Also, congratulations to the curling team of Gesa, Paula, Aimee and Meadow who competed at a curling zone play-in game on Thursday. They represented Grandview School with great sportsmanship and a well played game.

Congratulations to the junior high girls for finishing 2nd in their home tournament this past weekend. They defeated the Dauphin 7 team by 30 before beating Roblin 79-5 to advance to the finals. Dauphin 8's beat the Spartans 26-24 in the final. Great effort ladies. Thanks Drew for all your scorekeeping.

Kindergarten Registration will be tomorrow, Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 9:00 - 3:30. There will be an orientation at a later date.

Congratulations to the Grades 6-8 Girls basketball team for defeating Gilbert Plains 49-17 last night.

Great effort ladies. The girls have their home tournament this weekend. If anyone would like to help at the canteen or scorekeep, please let Mr. G know.

Congratulations to the Grade 7/8 girls volleyball team for their performance at the Grade 8 Provinicals in Steinbach this past weekend. The girls finished 3rd in their pool, beating Steinbach and losing to Lansdowne School and St. Mary's Academy from Winnipeg. In the first round of the playoffs, the Spartans defeated Edmund Partridge School from Winnipeg to advance to the Quarterfinals. They then played Ness School from Winnipeg and lost 2 - 0 finishing the Spartans season in 5th place in the province. They had the highest finish of any rural team at Provinicials. The girls had an amazing season and you should be so proud of what you accomplished. Way to go Spartans!!

Congratulations to the grade 7/8 girls volleyball team for winning the Ste. Rose tournament on Saturday. The Spartans went undefeated in the round robin to advanced to the finals. In the finals they beat Ochre River 2-0 to win the tournament. Good job girls on another solid day of volleyball. The 7/8's will practice today and Wednesday in preparation for their provincials this weekend in Steinbach.

There are no intramurals for Grade 4 - 6 today.

Friday, November 15, 2024 - Day 5

Congratulations to the Gr. 6/7 girls volleyball team for placing 2nd at the Divisional Tournament yesterday. The Spartans won their pool by defeating two different teams from Mackenzie, as well as Roblin and Winnipegosis. This put them in the finals against the Gr 7's from Mackenzie and unfortunately the girls came up a bit short.

This ends the 6/7 girls season, but the girls improved tremendously from the start of the season. They should be proud of how far they have come.

Thanks to everyone who reffed, kept score and helped in the canteen to make the day successful.

The grades 6-8 boys volleyball team travelled to Gilbert Plains yesterday to compete in the Grade 8 Divisional tournament. The boys played well despite being a younger team and won 3 out of 8 sets, coming in 3rd out of 5 teams. Congratulations on a great season boys!!

The Grades 6/7 boys volleyball team hosted the grade 7 divisional volleyball tournament yesterday, The Spartans played well, splitting sets with Gilbert Plains, Roblin and Mackenzie 6 teams. Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting on a successful day of volleyball.

Congratulations goes out to the Grades 7/8 girls volleyball team for winning the Divisional tournament in GP yesterday. The Spartans won both their round robin games, defeating Ochre River and Roblin. This gave them a bye to the semi finals where the girls beat GP to advance to the finals. In the finals the Spartans defeated MMS 2-0 to win the championship. This now qualifies them to play in the Grade 8 Provincials in Steinbach on November 29-30. Great job girls!! Be proud of your accomplishment.

The 6-8 girls volleyball teams hosted Gilbert Plains in exhibition volleyball last night. The 6/7s played 2 exciting games with some great rallies. They won the first set 25-24 and then lost the second 25-24. The 7/8 team won both of their sets and showed lots of fight to win the 2nd set with some clutch serves by Jacy and Tori. Great job to all players!!

On Saturday the grades 6-8 girls volleyball teams hosted their home tournament, with 10 teams participating. In the 6/7 division, the Spartan girls finished with a 2-2 record, defeating Roblin and Ethelbert and losing to Gilbert Plains and Dauphin. Once again, the 6/7 girls showed more improvement and played well.

In the 7/8 division, the Spartans had a very successful day, finishing in 1st place. In the round robin, the girls defeated Roblin, Ste. Rose, Dauphin and Gilbert Plains to get to the finals. In the Championship game the Spartans won an exciting match over Dauphin in 3 sets to win the tournament. Congratulations to all the girls for a great day of volleyball. Both teams host Gilbert Plains after school today in exhibition games.

The 6-8 boys volleyball team travelled to Dauphin this week to participate in the Mackenzie Magic Classic Tournament. The boys played well and ended up with 2 wins and 2 losses, placing them 3rd in the pool after round robin. The boys should be proud of themselves.

Congratulations to the Grade 7/8 girls volleyball team for finishing 2nd at the MMS Tournament this weekend. They won their pool by defeating Neepawa, Ethelbert, MMS and Swan River, They then played Russell in the finals and lost a tough 3 set match, losing the final set 18-16. Great job girls! You should be proud of your effort.

The 6-8 girls volleyball team was in Ethelbert last night and performed well in their games. The 6/7 girls won 1 set and lost 2 close ones. The 7/8 girls won all 3 of their games. Both teams played well and made lots of good volleyball plays.

The 6-8 boys volleyball team travelled to Ethelbert last night and won all three sets. All players showed improvements - especially on their serves. Reminder that the bus leaves at 8:30 on Saturday morning - please be sure to take your indoor shoes home today

Homework club will be in the library today until 5:00 p.m. - bring any unfinished work.

The 6-8 girls volleyball teams had their first games of the season last night in Gilbert Plains. The 6/7 girls lost both of their sets and the 7/8's won both of their sets. Both teams had some good plays and will look for improvements today when they travel to Ethelbert.

The 6-8 boys volleyball team hosted their first games of the season last night against Gilbert Plains. The 6/7 boys won all three of their sets. Both teams made some excellent plays and will work on some improvement in game play tonight in Ethelbert.

No boys varsity volleyball practice today after school.

PAC hot lunch forms are going home today. Any high school students and staff who would like to order can pick up forms in the office.

Wednesday, September 4, 2024 - Day 1

Welcome back to school to all returning students and staff and welcome to Grandview School to all new students and staff. Hope everyone had a great summer. Have an excellent 24-25 school year!

There will be a grade 6-8 girls volleyball practice tomorrow from 3:30 - 5:30. All girls interested in playing are asked to show up in your gym clothes and ready to practice.

Any grade 9-12 girls interested in playing volleyball are asked to meet in front of the office at 12:05.

Teen Clinic will be held in high school until noon today.

Homework Club will start up again next week. It will be held in the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Come and bring some homework to finish up.

September 3, 2024 - first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year. Staff only attend school today.

The 2024-2025 school year begins on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 for Grade 1 - 12 students and Kindergarten students will begin on Thursday, September 5, 2024 which is a day 2 on the school calendar. Kindergarten students attend classes on Days 2, 4 & 6.

School supply lists for the 2024-2025 school year will be with student report cards or they are available on Grandview School and Mountain School Division website.
